Ground-Mount Solar Arrays

Utility-scale and commercial ground-mount solar arrays from civil site work through commissioning — for landfills, parking canopies, agrivoltaic sites, and commercial land.

What we deliver

Our Ground-Mount Solar Arrays capabilities

Ground Array Civil & Structural

Site clearing, grading, stormwater management, driven pile or ballasted racking installation, and access road construction for commercial and utility-scale ground arrays.

Solar Carport & Canopy

Parking canopy solar structures combining EV charging below with solar generation above — the most cost-effective way to add both amenities simultaneously on any parking lot.

Agrivoltaic & Brownfield

Solar on agricultural land (agrivoltaic systems) and formerly industrial brownfield sites — often eligible for enhanced incentives and lower land cost than greenfield commercial parcels.

Who we serve

Ideal for these applications

Commercial Land Owners

Property owners with underutilized land adjacent to commercial or industrial buildings — ground arrays can monetize otherwise idle real estate.

Municipal Landfills

Closed landfill caps are ideal solar sites — no competing land use, good solar resource, and eligible for federal brownfield incentives.

Utility-Scale Community Solar

Community solar gardens serving multiple retail electric customers from a single larger system — increasingly common in states with community solar legislation.

Parking Lot Owners

Large surface parking lots at malls, office parks, and universities can host solar canopies that generate power, provide shade, and integrate EV charging.

How it works

Our ground-mount solar arrays process

01

Site Assessment

Topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, solar resource assessment, utility interconnection study, and wetland/environmental review.

02

Civil & Structural Design

Grading plan, drainage design, access road, racking structural engineering, and utility interconnection design submitted for all required permits.

03

Civil Construction

Site clearing, grading, erosion control, access road, and pile driving or ballasted foundation installation — civil schedule drives the overall project timeline.

04

Electrical & Commissioning

Module installation, string wiring, inverter commissioning, utility interconnection, and monitoring system activation.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What size ground-mount systems do you install?

We install commercial ground arrays from 250 kW to 5 MW AC. Projects above 5 MW are typically utility-scale and require a different project delivery model — we can refer those to appropriate partners.

Do you handle utility interconnection for ground arrays?

Yes — we submit and manage the interconnection application to the local distribution utility or RTO, coordinate protection relay settings, and manage the utility witness commissioning test.

What happens to farmland productivity with agrivoltaic systems?

Agrivoltaic design intentionally preserves agricultural use by spacing panels to allow crop or pasture growth below. Certain crops actually benefit from partial shading in summer heat — we work with agrivoltaic specialists to optimize both energy and agricultural yield.
